1. Who we are
Buildr Trades operates the Buildr platform at buildrtrades.com. We are the data controller for personal data collected through our platform. Contact us at hello@buildrtrades.com for any privacy queries.
2. What data we collect
From customers: name, email, phone number, full property address (stored encrypted), job descriptions and photos, messages exchanged with tradespeople.
From tradespeople: name, business name, email, phone, service area, portfolio photos, bio, insurance and verification documents, subscription and payment history, messages exchanged with customers.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to operate and improve the Buildr platform, connect customers with local tradespeople, process payments via Stripe, send transactional emails, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Address privacy
Customer full addresses are stored encrypted. Tradespeople only see the approximate postcode district before unlocking a lead. Full address is only shared after a customer accepts a tradesperson. We never display full addresses publicly.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with Stripe for payment processing, Supabase for database and authentication, and law enforcement where required by law.
6. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Financial transaction records are retained for 7 years as required by law.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, object to processing, and request a portable copy of your data. Contact hello@buildrtrades.com to exercise any of these rights.
8. Cookies
Buildr uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We use analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used. You can manage cookie preferences through the app settings.
9. Security
All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Sensitive data including addresses and verification documents are encrypted at rest. We use industry standard authentication and access controls.
10. Children
Buildr is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by email.
